Laura Wright Talks Menopause Struggles On General Hospital Set
Menopause effects every woman differently. In some cases the symptoms and hot flashes can be much more severe than in others.
The General Hospital star admitted that the panic attacks caused by her hot flashes were so severe that she ran off the ABC soap set while shooting and ended up not leaving her bedroom for two days.
Laura Wright seems to be on the mend now and has undergone surgery and is taking hormone replacements.
Now that she has gotten her health issues under control, she wants to use her soap opera fanbase to spread awareness about menopause and advocate for other women her age going through the same struggles.

General Hospital (GH) spoilers for Thursday, May 14, reveal that Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) will consider making a bold move while Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) backs Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) into a corner.
Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) will also push Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr) for the truth, so let’s discuss what’s coming up.
First, Carly will force a conversation that Nina would rather not have.
Nina will squirm as Carly brings up Jack Brennan’s (Chris McKenna) “stroke” happening only a few months after Drew Cain’s (Cameron Mathison) “stroke” in the same house.
“There has to be a common cause. Don’t you think?” Carly asks as she gives Nina a suspicious look in Thursday’s GH preview video.
Of course, Nina doesn’t know about Carly’s alliance with Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) or the fact that he told her about Nina jabbing Brennan with Drew’s medication.
Nina will play dumb, but Carly will suspect there’s more going on here and may make it her mission to uncover the rest of the story.
Over with Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali), she’ll tell Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) that she wants to do something on one condition.
This may be about the showcase Brook Lynn has set up and Trina’s desire to have Giovanni “Gio” Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza) accompany her.
Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) will blow her top on Thursday’s show, but that may not involve any Brook Lynn drama this time around.
This may be about Laura Collins (Genie Francis) caving to all Jenz Sidwell’s (Carlo Rota) helipad demands since Laura will have to explain herself.
As for Dante, he’ll have a difficult discussion with Rocco.
It sounds like Dante will confess that he knows about Rocco shooting Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) and wish his son had been honest with him.
However, Dante also knows “Nathan West” aka Cassius Faison (Ryan Paevey) and Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins Bruening) were pressuring Rocco to keep that news quiet, so he may not hold Rocco’s silence against him.
Instead, Dante will put Rocco on the spot by asking questions about Britt and whatever she’s hiding that involves Cullum.
Rocco may assure Dante that Cullum is the villain here and that Britt is just in over her head.
Meanwhile, Britt will have drinks with Lucas Jones (Van Hansis) in the room above Bobbie’s.
That’ll lead to Britt admitting she thinks it’d be best for everyone if she disappeared.
Lucas might admit he’d miss Britt if she did that and push her to stick around.
Britt is the best ally Lucas has right now against Cullum and Sidwell, so he still needs her help.
Plus, Britt would have to walk away from her chance at more medication and surrender to her Huntington’s disease, so Lucas won’t want that to happen either.
In Michael Corinthos’ (Rory Gibson) office, he may think fast and try to conceal the nearby photos that Elaine (Judy Kain) the PI delivered since Willow Cain (Katelyn MacMullen) has shown up to speak with him.
At the Metro Court Gardens, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) will thank ADA Justine Turner (Nazneen Contractor) for her help recently and admit she was right.
Justine pointed out that people lie for all sorts of reasons and encouraged Sonny to dig into why Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) was deceiving him.
Since it was all a big misunderstanding, Sonny will acknowledge that and perhaps credit Justine for not immediately assuming the worst.
Justine will talk about something she did for Sonny instead of Ric, so she may confess she was concerned about him losing his new bond with his brother.
This was less about Justine’s desire to protect Ric and more about her trying to preserve Sonny’s happiness.
General Hospital spoilers say some close moments are on the way between Sonny and Justine, so stay tuned.
