Tristan Rogers’s Final Television Appearance Airs on The Young and the Restless

The Young and the Restless has announced that the late Tristan Rogers will make his final television appearance on Tuesday, August 26, reprising his role as Colin Atkinson. The special episode will focus on Colin’s son, Cane Ashby, giving viewers insight into the years Cane spent away from Genoa City.
Jess Walton Pays Tribute
The news was revealed on Y&R’s official social media accounts in a heartfelt video featuring Rogers’s longtime leading lady, Jess Walton (Jill).
“Tristan Rogers was a respected member of the soap opera community,” Walton shared. “And he was a beloved member of The Young and the Restless family. And I had the pleasure of being his scene partner for many years. I adored working with him.”
The tribute transitioned into a flashback of one of Jill and Colin’s most memorable scenes. Alongside the video, Y&R wrote:
“On behalf of the entire Y&R family, Jess Walton pays tribute to her longtime scene partner, Tristan Rogers, who makes his final television appearance on tomorrow’s episode of The Young and the Restless. As we revisit one of their most memorable scenes — an emotional moment between Jill and Colin from 2014 — we are reminded of the lasting impact Tristan brought to our show, both on and off screen. He will forever be missed.”
Remembering Tristan Rogers
Rogers passed away from cancer on August 15 at the age of 79. He first brought Colin Atkinson to life in 2010, remaining on the show until 2012 before returning for additional runs from 2014-2017. His most recent appearance on Y&R came in 2019.
Colin’s son, Cane Ashby, was originally portrayed by Daniel Goddard, who left the soap in 2019 and can now be seen on General Hospital as Professor Henry Dalton. Earlier this summer, Billy Flynn stepped into the role of Cane, with the character revealing that his father had died six months earlier.
A Career Beyond Genoa City
When Rogers exited Y&R the first time, he stepped back into the role that first made him a daytime legend — Robert Scorpio on GH. Rogers originally played Robert from 1980-1992, returning for stints in 1995, 2006, and 2008 (including an appearance on the spinoff GH: Night Shift).
Following his comeback in 2012, Rogers juggled double duty with both GH and Y&R during 2015 and 2016. After wrapping his Y&R run in 2017, he returned full-time to Port Charles in 2018, remaining as Robert on a recurring basis from 2019 through 2024.
His final onscreen appearances came in July 2025, when he reprised Robert Scorpio for his last two episodes to usher Sofia Mattsson’s Sasha off the canvas.
