Stone Cates’ Tragic Death at General Hospital Just about every General Hospital fan knows the tragic story of Michael “Stone” Cates, played by Michael Sutton. Stone was Robin Scorpio’s (Kimberly McCullough) boyfriend back in the 1990s. Sadly, Stone tested positive for HIV at General Hospital. The first test was negative, and Stone and Robin became intimate, leading to Robin contracting the disease as well. By the time Stone died, he was blind. In a heartbreaking moment, Stone asked Robin to stand in the light of the window and was able to see her one last time before passing away. Stone’s death devastated many, but it raised awareness about HIV and AIDS. Stone is the reason the Nurse’s Ball began, raising money for AIDS awareness. Robin still lives a full and healthy life, and Stone’s spirit is still alive at General Hospital.

The Tragic Death of Georgie Jones Some General Hospital fans wonder how Georgie Jones died. Georgie was Maxie Jones’ (Kirsten Storms) sister, and their parents are Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) and Frisco Jones (Jack Wagner). Sadly, Georgie’s young life was tragically cut short by the text message killer. General Hospital viewers may recall Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) discovering her strangled to death in the park. Her death hit her family incredibly hard, but her memory still lives on. Her ghost made a few appearances on the show, even talking Maxie out of suicide once.

Courtney Matthews’ Heartbreaking End Another tragic death at General Hospital is that of Courtney Matthews (Alicia Leigh Willis). Courtney was Mike Corbin’s (Ron Hale) daughter. She was pregnant with Nikolas Cassadine’s (Tyler Christopher) son, Spencer Cassadine (now played by Nicholas Chavez). Courtney contracted a deadly virus at General Hospital, which sent her into labor. She died before she could even hold her son, Spencer. Years later, her spirit visited Spencer after he survived a fire. Everyone still misses Courtney, and Mike worries he may forget her due to his Alzheimer’s, which is in its final stages.

The Brutal Murder of Kiki Jerome Another horrible death that may stick with General Hospital fans forever is that of Kiki Jerome (Hayley Erin). Not long ago, Kiki was brutally stabbed to death by serial killer Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom). Ryan was with Kiki’s mother, Ava Jerome (Maura West), and they thought he was his kindly twin, Kevin Collins. Ryan killed Kiki because he felt it was what Ava wanted. Ava was devastated, and recently, Kiki’s spirit visited her mother, making it clear she holds her responsible for her death.

Sabrina Santiago’s Untimely Death Another General Hospital fan favorite who died well before her time was Sabrina Santiago (Teresa Castillo). Sabrina was a student at General Hospital and eventually became a nurse. She was engaged to Patrick Drake (Jason Thompson) and later became involved with Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell). Tragically, she was murdered by Paul Hornsby (Richard Burgi) when she discovered he was the hospital killer. Sabrina was a beloved character who is still missed.

Eventually, her dirty deeds caught up with her, and an assassin hired by Sonny killed her.
