The Reason Portia Was Absent From General Hospital In The July 30 Episode Revealed — It Will Shock You
It’s been a long journey for Portia as GH’s Co-Chief of Staff, but she finally made a decision about her career during the July 30, 2025 episode of General Hospital.
Will Portia Leave?
What started out as a reputable career as a doctor slowly but surely turned one disgraceful choice after another for Portia (Brook Kerr). After tampering with Heather’s (Alley Mills) test results in attempt to protect Trina (Tabyana Ali), once Drew (Cameron Mathison) found out, it was career over for the doctor.
Being blackmailed by Drew into swaying Curtis’ (Donnell Turner) perception of him was enough to get Portia to enact another scheme: giving a prostitute ketamine to drug Drew with. And once Drew found out, his illegal request became Portia’s last straw.
It was either she resign from her position as Co-Chief of Staff and lose her medical license, or tamper with Michael’s (Rory Gibson) test results to make it look like he has an opioid addiction. No longer wanting to be blackmailed by Drew or break her oath, Portia chose the former and wrote up her letter of resignation for GH’s board.
The decision didn’t come lightly for Portia, who decided to go along with it despite Curtis’ last ditch effort to protect her by revealing Drew and Nina’s (Cynthia Watros) affair to Willow (Katelyn MacMullen). But now that Curtis knows, will he try and convince his wife otherwise?
Drew’s Next Move
Meanwhile, Drew is off on a much-too-late apology tour. Since he can’t find Willow anywhere, he settled for speaking with Michael, hoping to convince him to let Willow see the kids now that they’re over. Later, when Drew showed up at Elizabeth’s (Rebecca Herbst) looking for his ex-bride, she let it slip that Curtis was the one who outted his affair with Nina to Willow.
