General Hospital Spoilers: Steve Burton Almost Walked Off GH Set – See Why Jason Star Nearly Stopped Filming
General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Steve Burton has been delivering some powerful performances ever since he made his long-awaited return as Jason Morgan. Whenever Jason’s eyes fill with tears, fans always know they’re going to get some truly emotional moments.
However, Steve Burton recently opened up about a scene that was so difficult to play, he almost walked off the set because of it.
It was a situation where the story really tugged at Burton’s heartstrings right along with Jason’s.
The scene happened in the March 27 episode when Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) delivered a note from Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) ahead of Jason’s arraignment.
Jason read Monica’s heartfelt message, which indicated that she believed in him.
Having that vote of confidence from Monica left Jason deeply moved – and it turns out it also moved Burton on a personal level.
Burton didn’t have to fake the waterworks for that scene since the tears that welled up were all too real!
As Steve Burton opened up about the tough scene on the Daily Drama podcast, he insisted he was struggling to keep it together and almost had to halt filming.
Jason was supposed to stop Brook Lynn and ask her to tell Monica that he loved her, but it was hard for Burton to finish his lines.
“I was so emotional, I couldn’t even get it out,” Burton said. “And at that point, I’m like, ‘Do I just keep going, or do I just walk off the set right now?’”
However, Burton ultimately knew he needed to stay put and get the job done.
The next take wouldn’t have been the same, so Burton just had to remain in that emotional headspace and power through.
Of course, we’re grateful Burton was able to pull it off since that was indeed a memorable scene that brought plenty of emotions for GH viewers as well.
Our predictions point to much more drama for Jason as he continues reuniting with familiar faces and tackling new problems that have arisen in Port Charles.
General Hospital spoilers say Jason and Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) growing feud will take center stage soon, so stay tuned for updates on all the terrible news that could result.
