Shocking GH Spoilers! Here’s Why General Hospital Won’t Be Airing Wednesday — and Possibly Longer

There’s nothing like settling in to watch your favorite soap then bam — it’s not on… and if you were looking forward to a new episode of General Hospital today then we have some bad news for viewers.

Wednesday's General Hospital Episode to Air Again After News Preempt

Due to special programming for Major League Baseball, the ABC soap was not seen on Tuesday, September 30 and won’t be on Wednesday, October 1 — and possibly longer.

News of the scheduling change first came yesterday when ABC’s programming executive Nathan Varni alerted fans through X.

“Due to MLB daytime games this week, new episodes of GH will air Monday, Thursday and Friday,” he shared then went on to explain, “Thursday is tentative based on [Wednesday’s] game results. Sorry for the interruptions, have a great week!”

We’ll be sure to keep our readers updated if the show won’t be seen on Thursday as well, depending on, like Varni stated, the previous day’s baseball game results.

Why General Hospital Isn't On Today (September 30 & October 1) & When It Returns

As for where things in Port Charles will pick up… Those who watched the Monday, September 29, episode got a look at Tracy’s reaction upon learning that the woman in the Quartermaine crypt was Monica’s younger sister, Veronica “Ronnie” Bard, played by the legendary Erika Slezak.

Plus, Obrecht was reunited with her back-from-the-dead son, Nathan, and Ric broke free from the restraints — watch out, Alexis!

While we wait for new episodes to return, take a look through our preview gallery below for all five soaps, which features a peek into this week, including what happens when exes cross the line, a solid couple crumbles and wait till you see who gets socked in the kisser!
