Emme Rylan recently confirmed that her time as Lulu Spencer on General Hospital was coming to an end. Now soap fans are hoping to see her reprise her role on The Young and the Restless. Is there any chance of that happening? Here is everything we know. Emme Rylan’s Lulu Spencer Recasted On General Hospital. The GH star played the role of Lulu Spencer for seven years. In an episode in 2020, she was injured in an explosion and has been in a coma since.
“Getting to play the daughter of Luke and Laura was the most amazing opportunity,” she said during a 2023 interview. “No matter what the internet says, I have made it very clear to General Hospital that I am always available to play Lulu should she ever want to wake up.”
However, General Hospital fans received word that they were doing casting calls to fill her spot on the show. On Tuesday, August 6, Emme Rylan confirmed that she was being axed from the cast. She broke the news to fans via her Instagram Story.
“Yes it is true. GH has decided to recast Lulu,” the actress wrote. “Although I am very disappointed with their choice, I am glad to finally have closure. (And thank goodness GH brought all of you fabulous people into my life! Love you guys!).”
Young And The Restless Fans Want Emme Rylan Back
One show’s “trash” is another show’s treasure though. Now, fans of another soap opera are hoping to see Emme Rylan make a return.
From 2005 to 2013, she played the role of Abby Newman on The Young and the Restless. At the time, she was credited as Marcy Rylan. With her role coming to an end on General Hospital, some Y&R fans are hoping to see her come back to the show.
In a Reddit post titled “Wishful casting,” one person suggested that she take on the role of Tara Locke on the CBS soap opera.
Several people took to the comments to chat about what Emme’s return to the soap would look like. “If she came back as Tara, there would be 3 Abbys on the show at once,” one person wrote. They were referring to Hayley Erin who returned to Y&R after playing Abby Newman previously and Melissa Ordway, who plays the role now. “I’m for it.”
Another person mentioned the previous Abby coming back as well. “I’m not opposed to it. Hey, they gave another former Abby a job and she’s doing really good work…” they wrote.
Others said they’d love to see her reprise her role as Abby. “She should comeback as Abby. She added a maturity and vulnerability to Abby that Melissa Ordway doesn’t have. She was also funny too,” one Y&R fan wrote.
Another Young and the Restless fan agreed, “She was an awesome Abby. The Naked Heiress stuff was great, pure entertainment.”
At this time, there is no confirmation that Emme Rylan will return to The Young and the Restless following her departure from General Hospital. However, it is clear that fans are on board with the idea.
