SAD NEWS! B&B Is Coming to an End: What’s Causing the Company to Leave the Iconic Studio After 38 Years?

If fans thought that The Bold and the Beautiful going to Italy to shoot some episodes was a big deal, they haven’t seen anything yet.
News has been reported that will change everything, yet keep it all the same. Fans shouldn’t worry, though, considering the show has been renewed right through 2027 and 2028. However, the change that’s coming is monumental, and we have the details.
Relocation is Imminent
Since the show’s inception in 1987, most everything that required scenes to be set on stages has been filmed at the Los Angeles studio complex called Television City.
However, Deadline has reported that the show will be relocating soon, and production in their new digs will commence on August 19.
According to the outlet, B&B will be staying in LA and moving to Sunset Las Palmas Studios, which is two and a half miles Northeast of Television City.
Series head writer and executive producer, Bradley Bell, stated, “It’s been an extraordinary 38 years at Television City, where we have produced over 9,600 episodes of The Bold and the Beautiful.”
It’s a Defining Icon
Bell continued by explaining that the sets and production will be moving to Sunset Las Palmas Studios, where the show will continue to be produced in California.
In 2019, CBS sold Television City to Hackman Capital Partners, and many shows that were previously shot there have since relocated, including The Price Is Right, which moved in 2023.
B&B had been leasing the soundstages since the beginning, but the expiration of that lease has also prompted the move.
The SVP of Sales for Sunset Studios and Quixote, Sean Griffin, happily stated, “We are honored to welcome The Bold and the Beautiful to Sunset Las Palmas, where we will deliver world-class service to ensure the entire cast and crew have an exceptional experience.”
He further noted that in these trying times, when productions are abandoning California for other locales, B&B’s move is a defining icon for the entertainment industry, “and we hope others will follow their lead.”
