Latest news! General Hospital’s Haley Pullos Requests Car Crash Lawsuit Dismissal, Blames Other Driver’s Alleged ‘Negligence’
Pullos was charged with a DUI after she was arrested in connection with a 2023 wrong-way crash on the freeway
Haley Pullos has requested the Los Angeles Superior Court dismiss the civil lawsuit related to her 2023 DUI arrest.
On April 29 last year, the General Hospital actress, 25, was involved in a wrong-way crash on the freeway after an alleged hit-and-run incident that happened moments before the collision. At the time, PEOPLE reported that the actress was unable to exit her vehicle when law enforcement officers arrived on the scene. The Pasadena Fire Department later used the jaws of life to “extract” from the car before she was taken to the hospital to be treated for her injuries.
She was charged with a DUI after she was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence and for allegedly driving the wrong way on a freeway.
The other driver involved, Courteney Wilder, was also hospitalized with major injuries and later filed a lawsuit seeking damages in January.
In court documents obtained by PEOPLE, the soap opera star denied “generally and specifically each and every allegation” made in Wilder’s suit and as well as Wilder’s claim they “have sustained, or will sustain, any loss or damage in the manner or amount alleged” by Pullos’ hands.
Instead, the filing claimed that the “damages” alleged in the complaint was “proximately caused by either the sole negligent and/or intentional conduct of Plaintiffs.” Therefore, Pullos claimed the cost of Wilder’s recovery, “if any,” should be “reduced by an amount proportionate to the amount by which Plaintiffs’ negligent and/or intentional conduct contributed to the alleged damages.”
She also alleged that Wilder’s damages were caused “either wholly or in part, intentionally or negligently caused by person, firms, corporation, or entities” outside of her control.
Pullos has asked the court that Wilder’s complaint be dismissed and her legal fees to be covered in addition to “other and further relief” deemed “just and proper.”
After the crash, Pullos allegedly entered a rehabilitation treatment facility. The actress, who has been playing Molly Lansing-Davis on General Hospital since 2009, told Soap Opera Digest in May that she was stepping back from the role after being involved in a car accident and needing “a little time to recover.”
In a statement to PEOPLE, the L.A. County D.A. shared at the time that “drunk driving remains a grave concern in our communities, claiming thousands of innocent lives each year.”
The D.A. added, “Charging Haley Pullos with a felony DUI causing injury underscores the severity of this alleged offense.”
