The same-sex love story of Kristina (Kate Mansi) and Blaze (Jacqueline Grace Lopez) looks to have come to an end on the Tuesday, August 13th episode of General Hospital. With the ‘new attitude’ and grieving Kristina swallowed up in the loss of her baby, she is pushing everyone away.

When Blaze comes to see Kristina in her hospital room, Kristina already knows Blaze got the opportunity of a lifetime to be the opening act for Miquel Morez (Ricky Martin) on his world tour after Natalia (Eva LaRue) came to see her with the news. Blaze insists she won’t leave Kristina while she is recovering in the hospital and because she loves her and wants to be there for her.

Blaze tells Kristina, she is her everything and won’t be pushed away. However, Kristina insists Blaze go for her dream and go on the tour, especially now because Kristina says she is empty and has nothing left to give, because the baby was everything to her.  When Blaze tries to reason with her that she can be there to help her though her grief, Kristina says she will end up resenting her because she put her life hold and this opportunity is something Blaze always was born to do.

Kristina tells says Blaze that needs to live her best life. Eventually, after tears are streaming down are face, Blaze says she will go on the tour, but can they, at least, touch base, while she is away. Kristina agrees they can. They share a kiss and Blaze exits, and Kristina breaks down.

Now at the airport with her mother Natalia, Blaze learns that Natalia has to tie up some loose ends before joining her on the European leg of the tour. Blaze gets angry and tells Natalia that she got what she wanted – Kristina dumped her.  Now, in turn, Blaze fires Natalia as her manager, before heading out to catch her flight.

General Hospital fans rage over Blaze’s exit as they beg writers to make her mother go instead !

General Hospital fans were upset to see Blaze leave and not her mother Natalia.

It is not confirmed as of yet if Blaze is being permanently written out of the show, or if the actress Jacqueline Grace Lopez who plays her will be leaving the show either. Blaze decided to go on tour and be the opener for Miguel Morez after her conversation with Kristina. When the opportunity was first brought up by her music manager Brook Lynn, Blaze was initially excited but then that dwindled when she thought of leaving Kristina, especially in her current state of grief and trauma.

She expressed to both Brook Lynn and her mother Natalia that she would not be going on tour. Natalia went to Kristina to discuss how Blaze needed to essentially go on tour. Kristina agreed with her and when Blaze came to visit her in the hospital again, she told her to go.

During their conversation, Kristina was adamant with Blaze that she needed to take the opportunity. Blaze declined fiercely saying it’s her decision to say no. Through their conversation, Kristina tried to convince Blaze to go by stating that right now she is grieving and doesn’t have the capacity to love anybody else right now but the baby she lost. She also added that she didn’t want Blaze to jeopardize her future for her and to also resent her if she stayed. They continued to go back and forth as Blaze let Kristina know she wants to support her, she loves her and will not regret staying.

Blaze eventually succumbed to Kristina’s request but the conversation got emotional with Blaze crying, feeling forced by Kristina to choose her career over her. Before they kissed one final time, Kristina let her know she just wants her to be happy and is proud to watch her soar. Kristina broke down in tears, shedding her stoic exterior after Blaze left.

Then Blaze was in the car with her mother Natalia as she dropped her off to the airport. Natalia told her she understood it was hard to leave Port Charles and Kristina but she couldn’t pass this chance up. Blaze, clearly upset with her mother, told her she didn’t need to sell it, she already agreed. She also let her mom know she won’t be going on the tour with her any more. Blaze said Natalia wanted Kristina to break up with her so now she is broking up with her. She fired her mom and doubled down. Blaze explained how she always did what her mother wanted but it was never about what she wanted and how as her business manager, Natalia worked for her not the other way around.

Fans took to social media to express their annoyance with Blaze going on tour which may be the end of her character on General Hospital. They would much rather have her mother leave. One fan wrote on Twitter: “I’m done with this show. They write off the lesbian character, and keep the homophobic one around. This show will continue bleeding viewers.” A second fan wrote: “Blaze, take that heffa with u! What does Natalia need to tie up in Port Charles??? GOOO Another said: “Blaze firing her Homophobic and Controlling Mom was my favorite part of @GeneralHospital today no Blaze tomorrow I don’t know about Thursday and Friday I hope she on the the week of August 19 -20 I still hope Jacqueline Grace Lopez isn’t leaving General Hospital”

On the General Hospital subreddit, the feeling was also mutual as one fan said: “Getting rid of Blaze and Keeping Natalia is crazy.” A second user said: “Blaze could have been a great character, getting her life together after finally calling out ScumLinc, then trying to take Chase away from BLQ, trying to get gigs on her own.”

If this is Jacqueline Grace Lopez last episode for now, she delivered in these emotional scenes with Kate Mansi and Eva LaRue, and viewers know how on the soaps performers always get some meaty scenes before their exit!
