Harris Leaves Salem June 24 Days of our Lives: Tearful Goodbyes & Future Twists Await
Harris and Ava had a long, tearful goodbye on the June 24 episode of Days of Our Lives. Plus, Maggie and Alex finally come to a truce in the aftermath of Konstantin’s death.
Harris’ Exit Will Lead To a Major Return
Well, we knew this day was coming. Harris (Steve Burton) finally left for Port Charles…er, rather, parts unknown. It looked as if he was gonna dump Ava (Tamara Braun) because of her schemes, but it wasn’t that at all. He initially told her he was leaving town because of Hope (Kristian Alfonso), making both us and Ava think he still had a thing going on with her.
But he clarified and said she needed his help to find Megan (Miranda Wilson), who’s somewhere in the wind, and Hope can’t leave Bo’s (Peter Reckell) side. The two made love, and their goodbye was long and slow, as neither one really wanted him to leave. At least they parted ways on good terms, and he wasn’t killed off, so a return of Harris in the future is always a possibility.
We already know that Alfonso will return solo for the tribute to the late Bill Hayes, who played Hope’s father, Doug. Reckell may not be too far behind her because he hinted at a possible return.
On June 18, Dishin’ Days — the online DAYS recap show — sent him via X, formerly Twitter, an image of a mug with their logo on it that says, “2024 Dishin’ Days Award,” with the caption, “@peterreckell we have a few of these for you but don’t know how to get them to you.” On June 20, he responded, “With any luck I will be at the studio soon and I can get them from you there. Thanks!”
So, while we’re enjoying Burton back at General Hospital playing Jason and a little sad that he didn’t have more time to develop Harris’s character on DAYS, we’re excited that a return of Bo and Hope may be in the cards. Just don’t tell Konstantin (John Kapelos)…you know what he likes to do with cards.
Alex and Maggie Bury The Hatchet
In a surprisingly sweet set of scenes, Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) and Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) had a nice heart-to-heart. She walked in on him talking to the painting of Victor (John Aniston), and the two got reminiscing about him. Alex admitted that he had been reassessing his life and is figuring out who he is and who he wants to be.

He explained to Maggie that they should work with each other, not against each other. She accepted his proposal, and it looks like they’re on good terms now. The sad part is that he still thinks Vic is his biodaddy, and when the news eventually comes out, he will probably go off the deep end.
Alex also proposed to Theresa (Emily O’Brien). While she seemed genuinely thrilled, it’s all gonna go down the hopper if she’s ever revealed to not only have been Konstantin’s accomplice but also the one who kidnapped baby Victoria. He’s going to need Maggie’s compassion and Justin’s (Wally Kurth) love and guidance to get through things when his whole life falls apart.
He’s made questionable choices — like sleeping with Kristen (Stacey Haiduk) on the side — but has owned up to them. Hopefully, when things come crashing down, his self-improvement will come in handy, and he’ll be able to take everything head-on.
