General Hospital spoilers and updates reveal Michael Easton, formerly Hamilton Finn on the soap, has some exciting new projects on the horizon.

He recently  posted an enigmatic message on social media alongside fresh headshots, suggesting an exciting new project is ahead.

General Hospital Spoilers: Finn’s Abrupt Exit Was Shocking

The sudden departure of Michael Easton in June 2024 left a heavy heart among General Hospital and Michael Easton fans. He was known for his roles in various soap operas, including John McBain—who made a memorable crossover from One Life to Live—and then Dr. Silas Clay, who was killed.

The enigmatic vampire Caleb Morley and Stephen Clay were his roles on Port Charles, but it was his portrayal of Dr. Hamilton Finn that resonated most with viewers on GH.

Initially tough around the edges, Finn’s character evolved into a more tender figure after the arrival of his daughter, Violet Finn (Jophielle Love).

Although they have since left Port Charles, fans can breathe a sigh of relief as Easton has hinted at some thrilling developments on the horizon for his career.

GH Spoilers: A New Beginning For Easton

Easton took to Instagram to share his New Year’s wishes, saying, “Happy New Year! Here’s to a year filled with health and happiness in 2025. I apologize for my absence over the last few months; I’ve been immersed in a project that I can’t wait to reveal soon.” He went on to explain the photos he shared: “In the meantime, I emerged from my cave and descended from the mountain just long enough to capture some headshots.

He then explained they were his first in five years, by  the incredibly talented @jacksondavisphoto, who truly knows how to make me shine. Sending love and blessings to everyone. #happynewyear #newbeginnings #blessed.”

Rebecca Budig, formerly Hayden Barnes, Finn’s former love interest and Violet’s mother, currently portraying Taylor Hayes on The Bold and the Beautiful, shared her thoughts. She posted  a cheerful, “Perfect. As always. Happy New Year, Michael.” Another familiar face from the past, Finola Hughes, who played Anna Devane and had a romantic connection with Michael, chimed in with, “Looking great, Michael! Happy New Year.”

Meanwhile, many of his fans were buzzing with curiosity about his latest project. Easton’s followers are aware that he has penned several graphic novels.

GH Spoilers: Has One Of Easton’s Graphic Novels Been Picked For A Series?

Michael’s graphic novels  include the Soul Stealer series, which follows a 3,000-year-old man fighting dark forces in search of his wife, and Credence, a gripping tale about a detective facing unspeakable evil.

There’s a chance that one of these intriguing stories has been picked up for adaptation into a film or TV series, with Easton potentially taking on the lead role.

There’s been talk that he might come back to Days of Our Lives as Tanner Scofield, or as the lead in a film version of Hollywood Hustle.

General Hospital Spoilers: Another Possibility Involving Former GH And OLTL Co-Stars

The last time he took a break from GH, after Silas was killed,  he worked with former OLTL co-star Trevor St. John (former Victor Lord, Jr.)  on a film called “Ultraviolent.” He, Roger Howarth (former Todd Manning, Franco Baldwin, Austin Gatlin-Holt) and Trevor are good friends in real life.

Since they are good friends, and all currently out of acting work,  could Michael, Trevor, and Roger Howarth be teaming up for this new project?

Roger only has an Instagram, but fans might want to check it, Trevor’s, and Jon Lindstrom’s social media for clues. And of course keep up with Michael’s accounts to see any forthcoming announcements!

The abrupt exit of Michael Easton in June 2024 saddened General Hospital fans. Although he’d played several soap characters including John McBain — who had crossed over from One Life to Live — Dr. Silas Clay, as well as the Port Charles characters, Michael Morley and the vampire lord Caleb Morley, his portrayal of Dr. Hamilton Finn had touched the fans deeply. Although initially gruff, Finn softened after his daughter Violet’s introduction; however, they no longer reside in Port Charles. But, fans should not worry because Easton recently teased some exciting news about what he’s doing next.

A New Beginning

Easton took to Instagram to write, “Happy New Year. Wishing you health and happiness in 2025. Apologies for being off the grid for the past few months but I’ve been working on something I hope to share with you all in the near future.” He then described the attached photos: “In the meantime, I did come out of my cave and down from the mountain long enough to shoot headshots (my first in five years) with @jacksondavisphoto who’s a true artist behind the camera and made me look good. Sending blessings to you all. #happynewyear #newbeginnings #blessed.”

Rebecca Budig, who played Finn’s former love interest Hayden (and now plays Taylor on The Bold and the Beautiful) commented, “Perfect. As usual. Happy New Year, Michael.” Another past castmate and romantic partner, Finola Hughes (Anna Devane), wrote, “Looking good Michael! Happy New Year .” Many of his followers wanted to know what he was alluding to.

What Could His Newest Project Be?

Fans of Easton know that he’s written several graphic novels, including the Soul Stealer series, about a 3,000-year-old man who battles the forces of darkness while on a quest to find his wife, and Credence, which is centered around a detective who confronts an unimaginable evil. It’s possible either of those properties has been optioned for a film or TV series with Easton playing the lead.

There’s also been speculation that he might return to Days of Our Lives as Tanner Scofield. Or, he could be tapped as the lead in an adaptation of Hollywood Hustle, written by his former GH co-star Jon Lindstrom (Kevin). Considering he shared new headshots, the odds are that his secret project will be a film or TV show, and we can’t wait to see what it is!
