General Hospital Spoilers: Dex Heller’s Dad Mystery – Will Fans Ever Find Out The Truth?
General Hospital (GH) spoilers indicate that even though Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) passed away in December of 2024, lingering questions remain about his family.
After all, he had a terrible childhood, with an abusive father, a submissive mother, and zero bond with his siblings.

As Cyrus Renault’s (Jeff Kober) actions and motive behind Dex’s murder was recently revealed, could a storyline pop up where one or more of Heller’s family members enter the land of Port Charles?
Then again, there was also speculation that Dex had family in the little town. Could this be revealed at some point?
Many GH Fans Thought Dex Had Family Roots In PC
From the moment Dex first appeared on screen in 2022, many GH fans thought he had family roots in Port Charles.
After all, the character was shrouded in mystery, and the only thing fans knew about the character was that he was a former army vet.
This launched some major speculation that Dex’s ‘long-lost’ dad could be in the little town. At the time, Dex was working for Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), and then fans realized he had been hired by Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) to become a mole in the mob boss’s organization.
Once Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) developed a relationship with Dex and he began to talk about his tumultuous childhood, fans began to zero in on the idea that Heller’s real dad lived in PC.
While the father he grew up with was abusive, this could’ve meant that Dex’s mom lied about her son’s paternity and his biological father was somewhere out there.
Dex’s Dad Theories
When Dex first arrived on the PC scene, Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) was thought to potentially be Heller’s unknown father, even though Stone Cold was ‘dead’ at the time.
After all, Jason and Dex did look very similar, which also led to the speculation that either Drew Quartermaine (Cameron Mathison) or AJ Quartermaine (Sean Kanan) may be the newbie cop’s father.
There’s also been theories that Sonny was his real dad, and the late John “Jagger” Cates (Adam J. Harrington). Alas, nothing more ever came out of it and now that Heller has passed on, it remains unclear if the GH writers would ever pick this storyline up and run with it.
