General Hospital Spoilers: 5 Ways GH Can Bring Sam McCall Back To Port Charles
General Hospital (GH) spoilers note that Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) officially passed away on the show last Wednesday, October 30.
Fans knew it was coming for a while now and some have been petitioning for the show to reverse their decision on both the character and the actress.
With that being said, Sam’s death was final, with loved ones ‘saying goodbye’ to her lifeless body over span of two shows.
But in the land of soaps, no one is ever “gone”.
After all, if GH found a way to bring back Jake Webber (Hudson West), after he not only passed away but donated a kidney to Josslyn Jack (Eden McCoy) then surely there’s a way to bring Sam back, right?
Here are five ideas that can help the GH writing team along to bring Sam McCall back to the canvas.
#1 – Someone Injected Sam With Serum To Make It “Appear” She Had A Heart Attack & Died
This has been done before, and as Sam’s passing came completely out of the blue, it would be completely believable that “someone” (whether it’s a Cassadine that fans thought was dead but is really alive or another villain) injected a serum in her IV bag to make it appear that she was dead, but Sam’s alive.
Said villain, could then steal her body at some point (after the service but before the burial). This could explain Sam’ eventual return to PC.
#2 – Her Body Was Stolen Before Burial – An Experimental Drug Brought Her Back To Life
Same idea as the above, just reversed.
Sam’s a Cassadine, and the family is infamous for experimental drugs and freezing people to bring them back to life.
While all the “evil” Cassadines are thought to be dead, they too, could be alive.
When Sam’s death news reached them, their grief over a family member’s demise may have prompted them to take extreme measures to bring her back to life by stealing her body before burying her to help bring her back.
They definitely have the money and resources to come up with a drug/serum/freezing treatment that could bring Sam back to life. Maybe she’ll be brainwashed when she returns?
#3 – Someone Switched Sam’s Body Before She “Died”
Did Sam have a twin sister she, or Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn), weren’t aware of?
Perhaps someone that looks a lot like her that could’ve been switched and put in Sam’s place after the surgery?
As such, Sam’s twin or doppelganger died, and this may all have been part of an elaborate plan to have everyone “think” Sam was dead, when she was really kidnapped.
#4 – Revisiting The Livvie Locke/Caleb Morley Vampire Storyline
Fans know that Sam looks a lot like Livvie Locke, a character from GH’s sister soap, Port Charles, that has been long cancelled.
This is because Kelly Monaco played Livvie Locke.
Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) was a part of Livvie’s storyline on the old soap, and when she returned to town in 2013 and bumped into Sam, Coe mistakenly referred to her as Livvie.
Of course, Caleb Morley (Michael Easton), who was a vampire, ended up returning to town that year too, and when he saw Sam, he became obsessed with her, thinking she was his long-lost love Livvie, who had apparently died.
Could the soap revive this storyline, bring Michael Easton back for good measure, and also somehow bring Sam back, all in one swoop?
As GH fans know, Caleb didn’t die, as everyone thought, back in 2013.
Did he steal Sam and concoct a plan to pretend she’s dead using some weird vampire magic, which could later logically be explained?
#5– No “Real” Explanation At All
GH could bring back the Sam McCall character by simply saying somebody kidnapped her, whether that’s the Cassadine’s or Caleb Morley or any other villain out there.
They don’t necessarily have to offer a detailed response as to how Sam miraculously came back, it might be easier to simply to offer a detailed story about her kidnapping and reason behind why said villain would go extreme lengths to take her.
As to “the how” it all happened exactly, sometimes less is more in explaining situations like this and making them believable.
General Hospital spoilers note that with the fan backlash around Sam McCall’s death, there’s a good chance the soap’s producers might decide to bring her back at some point in the near or far future.
If this happens, would GH viewers care if her return storyline was outlandish, as long as she was back on the canvas?
