Days of Our Lives star Deidre Hall, aka Dr. Marlena Evans, shines through her character’s noble deeds. Now, Deidre reveals what medical storyline she’d love for Marlena to tackle next. Check it out!
Days of Our Lives: Deidre UNVEILS Her Unique Skill!
Marlena from The Days of Our Lives has spent time in bed due to devil possession and had the occasional coma. However, the show’s wordsmiths haven’t really given her a physical illness to deal with yet. Deidre Hall told People, “Marlena has never had a serious illness.” Additionally, the actress mentioned her potential to bring a unique skill to a storyline involving a deaf patient or character.
Now, let’s learn what unique skill Deidre spoke about. She revealed, “I know sign language.” WHOA! “If we ever have a moment where she has a deaf client or needs to interpret, that might be kind of fun.” Hall noted that such things don’t happen often on daytime TV. We couldn’t agree more! Moreover, she joked that she would enjoy it if the show brought its own version of All My Children’s Glamorama beauty salon set.
The Days of Our Lives fame called herself a “frustrated hairdresser at heart.” She admitted how she often helps her co-star Eric Martsolf blow out his hair or trim those sides. “I can’t stop myself. You can’t stop what’s inside,” Hall chuckled. Interestingly, Deidre didn’t initially aim to become an actress. She studied psychology and took up modelling only to help pay the bills.
However, her agent encouraged her to try commercials, which led to her arrival in the acting realm. Then, Hall enrolled herself in acting classes with the iconic coach Stella Adler. “If you think there’s anything on stage that can scare you, try getting up on stage in front of Stella Adler.” Recently, COZI TV dropped a marathon of Hall’s non-Marlena roles, including episodes of “Emergency” and “Columbo.”
Despite her iconic status in soap operas, Hall remains grateful for her work at Days of Our Lives. “I’m always a little relieved that the gate opens over at [the DAYS studio],” she said. So, Being invited back is always a great compliment and a relief for Deidre because she finds joy in it. She noted, “I think 2% of the Screen Actors Guild makes a living being on camera.”
Given this rarity, Hall feels immense joy in having the opportunity to work consistently on the show for so many years. She’s beyond grateful for it!
