You know that feeling you get when you look forward to something so much and after months and months — sometimes years — of planning, the time to enjoy it finally arrives… Days of Our Lives’ Alison Sweeney (Sami) has experienced something along those lines and took to social media to give fans a peek into her big African adventure

“We made it!” Sweeney cheered. “We are finally on our family safari adventure in South Africa. I’ve been planning this for almost two years. I can’t believe it’s finally happening!” The actress shared a photo with her husband David Sanov and their son Ben and daughter Megan, as the family smiled for the camera, surrounded by beautiful scenery. “Today was our first day seeing the incredible wildlife,” she added. “So many majestic animals roaming. I could watch them for hours.”

General Hospital’s Cameron Mathison (Drew), who has starred alongside Sweeney on the Hallmark Channel, jumped into the comments and shouted, “Amazing!” as fans did the same and some even welcomed the family to their continent

Sweeney also shared various pics of the wildlife in her Instagram stories, including some elephants surrounded by “sunset vibes,” zebras, giraffes and a shot of her kids enjoying the sights while seated in a jeep.

We’re so happy that Sweeney and her family finally got to take the trip of a lifetime and we hope they enjoy every minute of it!
