Analyzing The Top Nominees
When it comes to the Lead Actress nominees, all but one – Y&R’s Melissa Claire Egan – have won the statue in the past. Egan has had prior nominations. With that said, Stafford, Wright, and Davidson have all won a Lead Actress award, with Davidson winning twice in the past for her role as Ashley Abbot on the Y&R, as well as her role on DOOL as Kristen DiMera. Grahn is also a two-time Daytime Emmy winner, both in the category of Outstanding Supporting Actress.
Meanwhile, for the men, Bergman is the only past actor on this who’s won in the Lead Actor category, while Martsolf and Rikaart have won Daytime Emmy statues in the Supporting Actor category. This is Daytime Emmy nod number 2 for Telfer, who was a nominee in the Supporting Actor category in 2020, and Zamprogna has snagged three previous nominations in the Supporting Actor race and one for Lead Actor.
