Jacqueline MacInnes Wood Celebrates Major Steffy Forrester Anniversary on The Bold and the Beautiful

It’s hard to believe it’s been over a decade since Jacqueline MacInnes Wood first stepped onto our screens as Steffy Forrester on The Bold and the Beautiful. From her first appearance, it was clear this wasn’t just another casting — it was destiny. As the daughter of Ridge Forrester and Dr. Taylor Hayes, and the twin sister of the ill-fated Phoebe, Steffy had massive shoes to fill. And Jacqueline MacInnes Wood did so with passion, fire, and undeniable talent.

A Star is Born — in LA

Wood’s journey with The Bold and the Beautiful began when she moved from her native Canada to Los Angeles in the spring of 2008. Amazingly, B&B was her very first U.S. audition — and what a debut it turned out to be. Speaking to Soaps.com, she reminisced, “From the start, I loved working on Bold and Beautiful, although I’d never worked at a pace like that in my life.”

Her first week was relatively manageable since her contract was still being finalized and she’d received the scripts in advance. But once filming began, it was full throttle. “By the end of that first week, they gave me eight scripts for the following week — and it was non-stop like that for the first three years,” she said.

Jacqueline made her first appearance as Steffy on June 4, 2008, and she quickly became a staple of major B&B storylines — from boardroom battles to romantic entanglements and endless family drama. Whether you loved or hated Steffy at any given moment, you couldn’t take your eyes off her.

Burnout and a Turning Point

While the role was thrilling and fulfilling, the relentless pace eventually took a toll on Wood. “I was in my 20s trying to balance so much and living on 5-hour energy drinks. I was running on fumes,” she admitted. The constant pressure began affecting her health — both physically and emotionally. “Eventually, I didn’t even look like myself anymore. I was so thin and my skin was breaking out.”

A visit to a dermatologist offered a quick fix, but it sparked a deeper realization. “That’s when I knew I needed to take care of myself. Really focus on my health,” she shared. Since then, Wood has made serious changes, and today, as a wife and mother, she’s found even more motivation to stay grounded and strong.

Steffy: From Vixen to Powerhouse

Over the years, Wood has helped Steffy evolve from a classic soap vixen into one of daytime television’s most layered and resilient women. Yes, she’s still known for her questionable choices — especially when caught in the never-ending triangle with Liam and Hope — but Wood brings depth, compassion, and intelligence to every twist in Steffy’s story.

“Sometimes I wanted to strangle Steffy,” she joked. “She and Liam were so co-dependent — it was definitely not healthy!” But it’s that complexity, that emotional volatility, that makes Steffy so fascinating to watch. And Wood leans into it all with full-hearted commitment.

A Legacy Character — and a Real-Life Connection

For Jacqueline, Steffy is far more than just a role — she’s a part of her soul. “Steffy is such a huge part of my life. I don’t know what I’d do without her,” she said candidly. And fans feel the same. Steffy Forrester, with all her passion, pride, vulnerability, and strength, has become a cornerstone of The Bold and the Beautiful.

As we celebrate Jacqueline MacInnes Wood’s anniversary with the show, it’s the perfect time to reflect on all the unforgettable moments she’s brought to life — the heartbreak, the victories, the transformations, and everything in between.

Through every challenge, every rival, and every romance, Wood has made Steffy a daytime icon. Her performances continue to elevate the character and keep fans riveted, year after year. And we have no doubt the best is still to come.
