In a shocking twist, the former General Hospital actor encountered thieves trying to steal a catalytic converter from his vehicle. In no time, the culprits opened fire and quickly fled the scene.  Adding to the tragedy, Johnny’s brother Grant broke down the late star’s final moments, which were full of courage. Grant recounted how Johnny initially mistook the gunmen for tow truck operators but quickly realized the danger they posed.

Still, Wactor fearlessly shielded his co-worker upon realizing the true danger. “And that’s when they shot him,” Grant explained. He added, “We’re Southern, born and raised, and we would never let a female walk to their car by herself.” Additionally, his brother disclosed that the incident occurred around 3:25 am near Pico Boulevard and Hope Street. Sadly, the perpetrators remain at large.

Earlier, Johnny’s mum, Scarlett, revealed that the ex-General Hospital actor didn’t try to confront the suspects, yet they callously shot him before fleeing. Meanwhile, police reports suggested that the paramedics arrived shortly after 3 am PT, but it was too late. Johnny succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. While the suspects remain at large, Scarlett holds onto hope for their eventual capture.

The loss of the 37-year-old son sank Scarlet’s heart, leaving a profound void in their family. The departed soul is survived by his mother and his younger brothers, Lance and Grant.
