Rachel blocked out her actions since it’s just too painful for her to remember firing at her own uncle.
EJ nearly lost his life, so Rachel buried all the memories associated with the incident and can’t access them just yet.
However, Days fans can tell that Rachel is quite uncomfortable around EJ.
It’s just a matter of time until Rachel faces a memory flood and realizes the true reason why.
Days spoilers say Rachel’s behavior will get worse before it gets better, especially now that she’s scheming with Thomas DiMera (Cary Christopher) and leading him down a shady path as well.

Rachel is tangled up in Cat’s storyline now that she’s giving Thomas tips to make sure Cat and Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) stay apart.
Days spoilers say some Halloween chaos is brewing for Cat, who’ll face an attack shocker in the town square.
An unknown DOOL character in a lab coat will lunge at Cat while armed with a knife, so Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) will shout for her to watch out.
Cat will tumble into Chad’s arms as a result, but the culprit will seemingly still manage to slice someone.
It’s possible this will be a fantasy sequence, but it’s also possible Cat will genuinely face a close call.
Since it’ll be Halloween, there may be kids present when all this goes down.
If Rachel witnesses this mystery person’s life-threatening attack on Cat, the trauma of it all might bring back some awful memories.
It could be a trigger that leads to Rachel recalling how she nearly cost EJ his own life at the DiMera mansion.
Then again, there could be some other terrible ordeal that triggers Rachel’s memories of that fateful night.
Since Jeremy Horton (Michael Roark) has a new story that involves serving as Rachel and Thomas’ substitute teacher, there might be some mayhem at school that leads to Rachel’s memory flood instead.
