Unbelievable! ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’s Lisa Yamada Makes History At Daytime Emmys
The Bold and the Beautiful star Lisa Yamada (Luna) made history at the 52nd annual Daytime Emmy Awards.
On a night when the CBS soap wasn’t heavily nominated, the talented actress took home her first statue.
Yamada won in the Best Emerging Talent category, where she was up against her fellow The Bold and the Beautiful co-star Christian Weissmann (Remy), The Bay’s Olivia d’Abo (Fifi), and Days of Our Lives stars Ashley Puzemis (Holly) and AnnaLynne McCord (Cat).
It was the first year for the Emerging Talent category, which means Yamada made history by winning it in its inaugural year. From the moment The Young and the Restless’Michelle Stafford (Phyllis) and Ross Mathews read her name, Yamada was in tears and immediately hugged Weissmann, who was sitting next to her.

Yamada went on to thank her boss, Brad Bell, before declaring, “Playing Luna has been the honor of my life.” The actress also gave a shout-out to soap legend Don Diamont (Bill) for his constant guidance and her bestie Weissmann.
After a few more thank yous to the cast and her team, Yamada got to the most important people she wanted to thank, her parents.
“Most importantly, I want to thank my mommy and my daddy,” she said before needing a moment to compose herself. “You sacrificed so much for me to pursue this silly dream of mine. I am so lucky to be your daughter. I love you so much.”
Even in an emotional state, Yamada was able to poke fun at herself and her ugly crying. There’s no question that the award was beyond deserved.
Yamada transformed Luna from sweet and innocent to a murdering psychopath who keeps getting a new lease on life. As Parade reported, Yamada recently admitted she played a part in the sudden change in her alter ego.
Somehow, she manages to make evil Luna a little funny, super annoying, and a soap villain fans love to hate. Congrats to Lisa Yamada on her history-making Daytime Emmy win.
