Y&R Shocking Return: Tricia Cast and Patty Weaver Return as Nina and Gina
The Young and the Restless is bringing back two beloved faces to Genoa City. Tricia Cast and Patty Weaver are officially returning to the soap just in time for Christine and Danny’s wedding.
A show rep confirmed to Soap Opera Digest that both actresses are already on set filming, with their appearances scheduled to air in November.
Tricia Cast Returns as Nina
Cast first debuted as Nina Webster in 1986 and became a fan favorite thanks to her dramatic storylines and emotional performances.
She won a Daytime Emmy Award in 1992 and remained part of Y&R until 2001, later making numerous returns for special arcs and milestone episodes. Most recently, Cast appeared in March 2024 for the show’s anniversary celebrations.
When Nina steps back into Genoa City this fall, her presence may carry extra weight. Since her last appearance, Nina has endured heartbreak after the murder of her son, Chance (Conner Floyd).
Viewers will be watching to see whether her grief resurfaces during this visit — and if her path crosses with Cane (Billy Flynn), who was tied to Chance’s tragic end.
Patty Weaver Back as Gina
Weaver joined The Young and the Restless in 1982 as Gina Roma, Danny’s (Michael Damian) sister and longtime Genoa City resident.
She remained on the show until 2009 and has returned for memorable moments over the years, including Katherine Chancellor’s (Jeanne Francis) funeral in 2013 and Y&R’s 50th anniversary in 2023.
Fans will remember Gina’s deep ties to Christine (Lauralee Bell) and Danny’s first wedding in Hawaii in 1990, when she serenaded the couple with “Starting Here, Starting Now.”
